Class Cancellation Policy

|
Sewing Come take a sewing class and let us help you bring fun into your sewing. Each one of our classes requires pre-registration so call or e-mail us now to reserve your spot. Also, for each class we have a link that gives you the list of supplies that you will need to bring with you to class. Most all of our classes require you to bring a machine with you, or you can sign up in advance to use one of ours. Just ask a sales representative for help with this. If you are interested in a sewing topic that we do not have listed, we would be happy to make the class available to you. The only requirement we have for this is that we have a 3 person minimum. So, if you have a class you want to take, just find two other friends that are interested as well, and we will put the class together for you. Bernina These classes are free for those who purchased their computerized sewing machines from CS Sewing or Sewing Depot. If you purchased a mechanical machine, you may take the Machine 1 Class for a fee of $25.00. |

Bernina Machine 1 The class format goes over caring for your machine, understanding needles and thread in today`s industry, understanding tension, and understanding the basics of your machine. We recommend everyone take this class because knowledge is wealth that you can`t put a dollar value on. The same information is taught at all of the following dates:
April 1st, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
May 13th, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.

Bernina Machine 2You must have taken Bernina Machine 1 before taking this class or need management approval to enroll. This class is designed to go over how to use the more intermediate features of your machine. The same information is taught at all of the following dates: April 8th, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
May 20th, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.

Bernina Machine 3You must have taken Bernina Machine 1 & 2 before taking this class or need management approval to enroll. In this class you will learn how to use the more advanced features of your machine. The same information is taught at all of the following dates:
April 15th, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
June 3rd, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
July 22nd, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.

Bernina 440 EmbroideryThis class is designed for those that have purchased the sewing/embroidery440 Aurora series by Bernina. You must have the embroidery module for this class, your Editor-Lite software installed on your PC, and have taken at least Bernina Machine 1 that is offered for the sewing machine. PC`s recommended in class or you can sign up to observe. If you are just observing, please make us aware of this. We recommend taking the Windows 101 before this class also but it is not mandatory. The same information is taught at all of the following dates:

April 22nd, 6-9 p.m.
July 29th, 6-9 p.m.

Bernina Embroidery 1In this class you will learn to operate the wonderful features of your embroidery machine, as well as learn valuable embroidery information like hooping and stabilization. The same information is taught at all of the following dates:

Serger These classes are free for those who purchased their BabyLock or Bernina machines from CS Sewing. If you have a Babylock or Bernina serger that you purchased from another dealership, you may sign up for our classes for $25.00 per session. Please identify this when you register for class. |

Serger 1You will get an in-depth education on how to approach projects with your serger, how to maintain and care for your serger, how to thread your serger for basic serging, and an understanding of tension. This class is priceless! All of the following dates cover the same class material:
April 16th, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
May 31st, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.
July 23rd, 12-3 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.

Serger 2You must have taken Serger 1 before taking this class. There are only certain models of Babylock and Bernina sergers eligible for this class. Please call or stop by to see if your model qualifies for this class. All of the following dates cover the same class material:

Software These classes will get you over that software learning curve. For beginners and more experienced users, you'll gain the knowledge you need to use your machine software for expert sewing results. |

Computer 101This class was designed to give our customers a stronger background on understanding how to use their pc's before heading into any of our software classes. This class is required before taking any of our software classes, or you can test out of it (skip it if you pass our test). In this class we will give you an understanding of "mousing", file management, media resources, and what to do and what NOT to do with your computer. We will also cover some mail and Internet features that are commonly overlooked. CLASS FEE: $25.00.

Software 1This class is for students that own Bernina Embroidery Software Versions 4 or 5. You will be learning the basics of these software programs in this hands on class. You must take Computer 101 before taking this class, or you may test out of Computer 101. Call or stop by for details. All of the following dates cover the same class material:
April 14th, 1-4 p.m. or 6-9 p.m.

Software 2This class is for students that own Bernina Embroidery Software Versions 4 or 5 (excluding Editor Lite owners and Artlink owners). We will take you beyond the basics so that you can enhance your machine embroidery skills. You must take Software 1 and Computer 101 before taking this class, or you may test out of Computer 101. Software 3This class is for students that own Auto Designer, Designer or Designer Plus Version 4, and Designer Plus Version 5. We will take you beyond the basics into the world of creative digitizing. You must take Software 1 and Computer 101 before taking this class, or you may test out of Computer 101. Software Bonus ProgramsThis class is for students that own Bernina Embroidery Software Version 4 or 5. Learn about Cross Stitcher, Quilter Program and Photo Snap. Software Special EffectsThis class is for students that own Bernina Embroidery Software Version 4 or 5. Our focus will be on learning the depths of this software that allow you to create 3-dimensional embroidery through special fills, and special effects. You must take Computer 101 before taking this class, or you may test out of Computer 101. Call or stop by for details. All of the dates below cover the same class material. CLASS FEE: $20.00.

Digitizing from A to ZThis class was designed to help our Bernina Embroidery Software users that own Auto Designer and Designer Plus Version 4 or Editor Plus and Designer Plus Version 5 owners know how to create a design from scratch. The techniques used in this class will help give you confidence with digitizing and give you quality embroidery designs you will be proud to display. It is recommended that you have attended at least the Software 1 class before attending this class. CLASS FEE: $20.00.

Software Digitizing FontsWorking with fonts in the Bernina Embroidery Software is fun, but let's face it, we all want to know how to digitize our own lettering. If that interests you, and you have Designer Plus V4 software or higher, this class is for you. It is recommended that you have attended at least the Software 1 class before attending this class. CLASS FEE: $20.00.

Monogramming TowelsMany of our embroidery customers have requested a
class designated to just embroidering on towels. It`s our aim to please, so here it is! No matter what kind of embroidery machine
you have, come bring it to this class and learn how to use it to make beautiful towels. Our only prerequisite is that you know how
to operate your machine as this class is designed to teach you how to embroider on the towels – it is not a machine guide class.

Class Cancellation Policy
Due to the contracts we have with our instructors, we require 48 hours notice for cancellation of any class. If this requirement is not met, class fees will be forfeited. We reserve the right to cancel classes up to 12 hours before class time due to low enrollment. If inclement weather hits our area, we cancel classes based on Northwestern Michigan College’s schedule. If NMC closes due to weather, then our classes for that day will be cancelled as well. If we have to cancel a class due to inclement weather, we do our best to reschedule. In that situation, you will be called to see if the rescheduled date works into your schedule. If you have any questions regarding these policies, please feel free to call us for clarification.
